show credits per track, instead of just per album
for multiple-composers albums (example: metal gear solid 3, final fantasy x) i think it should be specified wich track is composed by wich author. It's a must be for me! ^^U
(btw, fantastic page! great job! ;D)

Let users export their collections
Export as text, XML or CSV. Allow users to choose which fields to include. Maybe even export as HTML with cover art and/or tracklists.

Denote Credited/Uncredited Artists
There should be an additional checkbox in the artist linking system called "credited" (abbreviated as "CRED", and checked by default). This will determine whether a linked artist is officially credited in the album or not. This can be useful for linking artists to their work even when they aren't credited for it, which occurs a lot in arrangements for older games.

Divide notes into "Printed Notes" and "Extra Notes"
Divide the notes into two sections. One section will be for notes that are more-or-less verbatim with what's printed on the album art, liner notes, and other official writings. The other section will be for notes provided by VGMdb contributors to enhance the information about the album. We could possibly combine the existing (and little used) "staff notes" into this section as well.

Add 30 seconds track samples for albums
It would be great to be able to listen to excerpts from albums you don't have but would like to have a short listen to - to see if it's what you really want to buy. 30 seconds clips are legal, and while it consumes some web space and bandwidth, it would also be a great addition to listen through various albums to discover new artists you like.

Rate individual Songs inside albums with Thumbs Up/Down system
Rating just the album with stars most of the time don't reflect the complexity of the quality differences of the individual tracks on the album. There can be some great songs which require drawing attention to, and songs which should be stayed away from.
With thumbs, users could give a thumbs up each song they specifically liked, and a thumbs down for each song they specifically disliked, mediocre songs in between would be left alone without rating.
The thumbs would then be accumulated, and the overall result (e.g. 20 up, 10 down) would be shown beside each song, as well… more20 votes -
Add a 'print run' field
Certain releases have limited print runs. This information can be recorded and can help to establish the rarity of a certain release.

Have higher resolution album art (300x300 min)
When updating my iTunes library i use VGMdb for the most part to grab album art but when playing on my iPhone it looks terrible, higher res album art would be great!

Field for album "origin" / "region"
Hey all, fantastic site for starters ;)
Just thought of a rather small enhancment: a field for the "Origin" of the album (or Region it was released in).
Exemple: http://vgmdb.net/album/11841
is a promo CD for the US market.
It would be nice if there was an extra field "Origin" specifying that, ie:
Origin: USA
Well you get the idea ^^
Thanks!17 votes -
provide a way to view submission statistics
It would be neat if you could view who submits material and edits. Maybe a breakdown by type of submission (album, tracklist, art, edits) could go in their profile or you could browse through people by stat?

Prioritize Wish List
Ability to separate your wish list into priorities such as "highest" and "high", down to "low" and "lowest", similar to Amazon.com wish lists. Seeing a wish list presented in this way makes the most sense, in my opinion.

Create a "Move to Collection" management option for Wish Lists
Right now, moving an album from my Wish List to my Collection is a bit convoluted. I think the ability to move albums directly from the Wish List instead of having to delete them and *then* add them to our Collections, would be very convenient.

Highlight the albums we have in our collection
Hi everyone,
I would really appreciate if we could see the albums that are already in our collection while browsing the "Search Results" page.
Dunno, maybe you could highlight them, or just put a little star icon (just like the child albums) on the album line, that would help collectors a lot.At the moment the only way to know if we already have the albums would be to check every single result, which takes way too much time. Especially when the search function finds more than 100 results.
Sorry for the mispelling and mistakes, english isn't my native language

Alternate Line Color in Sale List and Wish List
Alternate the background color of user lists (Sale List and Wish List), just like in the search results page. This way it is easier to see which price is associated with each album.

Track list parts
Allow for track lists to be split into multiple parts, this would be useful for albums that are divided into parts or where the content changes (mixed, unmixed, etc.) Idea shamelessly stolen from discogs (see http://www.discogs.com/release/1030661 or http://www.discogs.com/release/975715 etc.)

This is already planned in the new tracklist system (we have a column for “section”).
